He has performed worldwide, collaborated and recorded with artists as diverse as Yo-Yo Ma, Christian McBride, The 12 Cellists of the Berlin Philharmonic, Eddie Gomez, John Patitucci, Paquito D’Rivera, Deepak Chopra and Forever Tango among many others. He is a former Jazz Department Director at the Harbor Conservatory in NYC, and has given master classes and lectures at The Juilliard School, Oberlin Conservatory, Eastman School of Music, Yale University, Columbia University, University of Florida and New York University among others. Argentinean drummer and percussionist Franco Pinna has earned a unique status in the New York Musical scene, having collaborated with Paquito D'Rivera, Oscar Stagnaro, Claudia Acuña, Mika Pohjola, Marta Topferova, Claudio Ragazzi and Toño Arnedo, among many others. He has extensively toured worldwide at venues such as Royal Albert Hall, (BBC proms ), Tokyo Jazz Festival, The Blue Note, London Queen Elisabeth Hall, Jazz Royale in Thailand, The Vienna Jazz Festival, The Hague jazz Festival, London Jazz Festival and many other venues in Japan, Korea, Vietnam, Thailand, Spain, France, Italy, Czech Republic, Russia, Poland, Germany, Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, Hungary, Rumania, Macau, Greece, Israel, Denmark, Finland, Sweden, Austria, Switzerland, Colombia, Argentina, Mexico, Ecuador, Guatemala and Panama.

Mr. Pinna delivers his unique approach and mastery, utilizing his own drum set created from traditional Argentinean folkloric drums, together with conventional elements from the drum set.

Grammy Award winner bassist and composer Pedro Giraudo is among the most compelling tango/jazz artists today. He hasconducted the world renown WDR Big Band and Cologne Contemporary Jazz Orchestra, and has collaborated with Paquito D’Rivera, Branford Marsalis, Kenny Garret, Regina Carter, Nestor Torres, William Cepeda, Pablo Ziegler, Ruben Blades and
Miguel Zenon among many others.

He has also performed and arranged for The New York Philharmonic. He has participated in numerous jazz and music festivals throughout the North America, Europe, Latin America, the Caribbean and Asia, and performed in venues such as The Blue Note (Japan & USA), Jazz Festival Royale in Thailand, Kennedy Center (Washington, DC, Lincoln Center and Carnegie Hall (NYC). Downbeat Magazine described Giraudo’s music as “an opulent listening experience of modern, orchestral jazz, brimming with passionate improvisations, deliberate contrapuntal melodies and plush harmonies."
